Other than us Victorians finding ourselves in (hopefully just a mini) lockdown 3.0 this week, the year feels like it has got off to rather a normal start from an employment perspective. January was quiet on the recruitment front, as is normally the case with many people taking the opportunity to enjoy a well-earned break and a number getting out of town for a bit. February has had a brisk start with permanent and contract roles coming through in the Capital Equipment, Education, Building and Medical sectors. Turnarounds in response to the latest lockdown have shown that our clients are now fast to adapt to different ways of working in the face of an often-changing landscape. Hopefully additional speed humps will be few and far between, as all other indicators are pointing towards a positive year in hiring in 2021.
